Here’s to Coffee’s
Individuality

by Innovative Community No Comments

How can a cup of coffee, a beverage that is shared all over the world, be considered unique and individual?  Well today’s small privately owned coffee shops would like to try to answer this question.  For most of these coffee bean connoisseurs it’s about the uniqueness of the blends/varieties that separate them from your local Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Duncan Donuts, and Coffee Beans. It is also the pride in providing an experience that is unique to that offered at your major international coffee chains.

Just look at some of the unique shops that have started to appear all over Toronto.  In the heart of Yorkville sits ZaZa, a small coffee shop with a loud personality that recently expanded into a sit down restaurant next door to their original store.  This tiny shop strove to bring a little piece of Italy to Toronto, and did so in offering great espresso, lattes, pastries and Italian music that leaves you feeling like you are sitting in the streets of Florence.

Or if Italy is not your thing, then how about a throwback to your childhood and an experience that reminds you of days gone by spent with your family, a cup of hot cocoa or coffee and an afternoon of board games.  A few years ago a coffee shop opened in Toronto called Snakes and Lattes, that offers an experience not found in any other coffee shop.  With a giant selection of board games and lots of tables, this coffee shop has challenged todays consumer to stop, sit, relax and have some fun for a while.

So in the spirit of adventure, I call out all individualist and one of a kind experience seekers and say go to your local, small, privately owned coffee shop and get ready for something truly unique.  Hopefully I will see you at your local Snakes and Lattes for a friendly game of Connect Four.  I get the first move!!!!!!!
